The explanation for the home team’s reversal of fortune is simple: patience and faith. Management and coaches—from assistant GM Jeff Gorton and GM Peter Chiarelli to head coach Dave Lewis and his staff—have been patient with the team they assembled. The players have shown faith in not only the system preached by the coaching staff but also in one another. Now that the players in all ranks—such as goalie Tim Thomas, defenseman Paul Mara, and forward Shean Donovan, fellows who may have doubted themselves for not playing at their best in October—have improved their games. Confidence abounds and translates to better positioning and better decisions. This translates to wins, like Monday night’s victory in Montreal and last night’s win at home against Toronto... and hopefully against New Jersey tomorrow night.
AMHL Capitals:
Like the NHL Bruins, the Caps have turned things around. With a 5–2 win yesterday morning, we’re 4–1–1 in our last five games. Despite our horrid record early on this season and our ultimate third place finish, we’re confident in our ability to knock off the Avalanche next Thursday morning in the first round of the play-offs (even though Aaron Sherman has returned to the Av’s lineup after missing a few weeks with a pulled groin).
Plenty of tickets still available. No word from AMHL Marketing yet about what the giveaway item might be for the first fifty fans, but I’ll keep you posted.

I think the simplest explanation for the Bruins "reversal of fortune" is luck. If you change nothing all season there will be good weeks and there will be bad weeks. When you are lucky its a good one. When you are unlucky its a bad one. The past week was a good (lucky) one.
